2017 is now well underway which means it’s time to reassess our goals for the new year, prioritize them, and succeed! I took this week off of work so that I could properly recover from the chaos of the holidays and get my mind is a positive space, because I know that with too much going on between my ears, it’s very difficult for me to stay focused. I went back to the gym after a 2 week break yesterday, and although I’m a little sore today, I already feel better for having done so.
This year I plan on running my first half-marathon. I’ve chosen the Toronto Womens’ Run Series Half-Marathon on Sunday May 28th at Sunnybrook park because I love the Women’s Run series and I really enjoy running through Sunnybrook, it’s a beautiful space. Training is already underway as truthfully I haven’t done much running over the winter so far, so I feel like I have a ways to go, but I’m pretty confident I’ll do well with it. Everyone I’ve talked to says if you do 10k’s regularly as I do, then a half-marathon is easy – just keep running 😉 so that’s the plan! Not sure which 10k’s I’ll be doing this year but more than likely I will be registering for the Toronto Waterfront 10k, as well as one of the Women’s Run 10k’s, and of course, the Terry Fox 10k in the fall .It’s looking like it’ll be a great run season for me, as long as I stick to my training plan!
With that all said, I’m long overdue for a new pair of Nike’s, so it’s off to the store for me, and I’ll end this post with my first weigh in and measurements of the new year. I’ve had a minor set back caused by overindulgence during the holidays, but I’m not worried 😉 I KNOW I’ll hit my goal weight soon and I WILL keep it off 😀
*Room for error as I do all these myself with a measuring tape, but the idea is that over the next few weeks we’ll be seeing these numbers all get smaller and smaller!
Upper Arm: 12″
Lower Abdominal: 36″
Weigh In: 163lb.
